Choose a small set of recent concepts and prepare paper cards.
Try it step by step
- Put a question on one side and a short answer with an example on the other.
- Answer before turning the card; separate uncertain answers.
- Revisit difficult cards next time and add new examples to familiar concepts.
Prepare for the activity
Start with a small deck and one clear question per card. Include a contextual sentence for vocabulary or conditions for a formula. Rewrite ambiguous prompts before practising so attention stays on understanding the subject.
Examples and adaptations
Answer aloud or in writing before turning each card. Sort cards into explained confidently, uncertain and not yet understood. A lucky guess does not count as confidence. Change the wording or request an example on the next round.
Continue and review progress
Prioritise difficult cards next time while revisiting a few familiar ones. Avoid adding more when the current set remains confusing. Repeated errors call for checking the lesson or repairing the question. Store decks by topic and note review dates.
After the activity
Check understanding as well as memory. Return to the lesson when an answer cannot yet be explained.
